Miss Gay Cleveland
CLEVELAND Melissa Ross was elected Miss Gay Cleveland at ceremonies here on Feb. 16 at the Bayou Landing. A panel of six judges chose her over three others competing in the areas of talent, self-expression, and appearance in evening dress. Hosted by Tiffany Jones, the "Texas Tornado," the Pageant also featured. "Mona Desmond" singing "Love To Love You Baby."
Immediately after receiving her award, Ross told the Gay News, "I'm really excited and I feel like I'm going to break into tears." Jerry Batal, owner of the Bayou Landing, said that Ross will represent Cleveland "in similar contests on a national level."
